Supplementary duty structure to be formed for motorcycle industry: Amu
18 June 2017, Nirapad News: Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu today said the government would form a supporting supplementary duty structure to expedite the productive motorcycle industry in the country.
“We will hold discussion with concerned ministry for forming a motorcycle oriented supplementary duty structure,” he said while having a meeting with Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh Masato Watanabe at the Industries Ministry here.
During the meeting, the Japanese envoy urged the government to keep the existing 20 percent supplementary duty for the motorcycle production and assembling industry.
Terming Japan as a development partner and tested friend of Bangladesh, Amir Hossain Amu said the bilateral relations between the two countries started from 1973 When Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman visited Japan.
Among others, Senior Secretary of Industries Ministry M Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan and Additional Secretary Begum Parag were present in the meeting.
