Supreme Court dismisses High Court’s order for not arresting Amanur & Shahidur
12 November 2015, Nirapad News: The Appellate Division of Supreme Court on Thursday scrapped the High Court’s order for not arresting and harassing Tangail AL MP Amanur Rahman Khan and his brother, also Tangail municipality mayor Shahidur Rahman Khan in AL leader Farukh Ahmed murder case.
An appellate division bench led by justice Nazmun Ara Sultana passed the order.
Deputy attorney general Ekramul Haque told newsmen the apex court passed the order, therefore, there is no legal bar to arresting Amanur and Shahidur.
On 14 July, the High Court ordered Amanur and Shahidur to surrender at judiciary court after they sought anticipatory bail.
It also ordered not to arrest or harass them during the time period.
