Supreme Court stays HC order on MP Liton’s surrender
14 October 2015, Nirapad News: The Supreme Court has stayed the High Court order that asked Gaibandha-1 MP
Manjurul Islam Liton to surrender before a trial court by October 18.
Chamber Judge Syed Mahmud Hossain passed the order on Wednesday hearing the government’s petition.
“Now, there is no legal bar to arrest the Awami League lawmaker,” said Deputy Attorney General Ekramul Haque
Earlier on Monday, the High Court rejected bail petition of MP Liton asking him to surrender before a trial court
by October 18 in a case filed for shooting a nine-year-old boy.
Liton also faces charges of looting and vandalism in another case.
On October 2, nine-year-old boy Sourav was shot in his legs when Liton opened fire.
