Supreme Court stays Tangail by-polls, allows Kader Siddique to appeal against HC verdict on nomination

15 March 2016, Nirapad News: Supreme Court (SC) again stayed Tangail-4 (Kalihati) by-polls. Appellate Division bench led by Chief Justice SK Sinha passed the order on Tuesday.

The court also fixed May 3 for main hearing on appeal of Kader Siddique.

Earlier, Election Commission fixed March 20 for holding the by-polls in Tangail 4 constituency.

EC Assistant Secretary Rajib Ahsan made the announcement after the High Court dismissed Kader Siddique’s writ to retain his candidacy.
