Syed Ashraf calls for strengthening spirit of Liberation war
14 December 2015, Nirapad News: Awami League General Secretary and Public Administration Minister Syed Ashraful Islam today called for strengthening the spirit of Liberation War.
“If we forget the spirit of Liberation War, Bangladesh may not exist as an independent country in future,” he said speaking as the chief guest at a discussion meeting organized by Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) at Engineering Institution auditorium in the city, marking the Martyred Intellectuals Day 2015.
Presided over by BCL President M Saifur Rahman Sohag, the meeting was addressed by National University Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Harun-or-Rashid and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Medical University Associate Prof. Dr. Nuzhat Chowdhury as the main speakers.
Moderated by BCL General Secretary SM Zakir Hossain, the meeting was also addressed by Dhaka University BCL President Abid Al Hassan, General Secretary Motahar Hossain Prince, Dhaka City North President Syed Majibar Rahman, General Secretary M Mohiuddin and Dhaka City South BCL General Secretary Sabbir Ahmed.
“We must not forget the spirit of Liberation War. If we forget, we will perish,” Syed Ashraful Islam said.
The memory of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and those sacrificed life with him would have to be made ever-memorable, he added.
He urged the BCL leaders and activists to groom themselves as worthy citizens to lead the country in future.
