Tea-seller Babul murder case shifted to DB
08 February 2016, Nirapad News: The much-talked tea-seller Babul murder case has been shifted to Detective Branch (DB) of police Monday (February 8).
Dhaka Metropolitan Police deputy commissioner (media) Maruf Hossain Sardar confirmed the matter to banglanews.
Earlier, Shah Ali Thana police was carrying out the investigation.
At night on February 3, the tea-seller Babul, with 95 percent burn injuries, was taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries around 1:30pm on the following day.
Babul’s family members claimed that a team of police officials and their source, led by Shah Ali Thana SI Sredam Chandra Hawlader, killed Babul as he declined to give extortion.
The family members also filed a case with the Thana concerned against seven people including Parul, Delwar, Aiyub Ali, Robin, Shankar, Dulal Hawlader and Parvin.
