Teenage girl’s throat-slit body recovered in Comilla

22 January 2016, Nirapad News: Police recovered throat-slit body of a teenage girl from a water body (beel) at
Kandagaon village in Meghna upazila on Thursday evening.

The deceased was identified as Monika Akhter, 16, daughter of Md. Halim Mia, a resident of the village.

Police and local sources said Monika got married at Nolchar village in the upazila about three years ago and divorced
within one and a half years after the marriage. She had remained missing since Wednesday night. On Thursday, locals spotted her body lying and informed police.

Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Comilla Medical College Hospital for an autopsy.
