Thakurgaon BCL infighting injures 20
13 August 2015, Nirapad News: At least 20 people were injured in an infighting of district Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) at Chaurasta intersection and also in front of Awami League office at district sadar on Wednesday.
On information, police brought the situation under control.
The injured were treated at district Adhunik Sadar Hospital and local clinics, reported correspondents.
Party sources said newly elected leaders of district BCL brought out a procession, extending their support to central unit’s programs demanding to bring the killers of Bangabandhu to Bangladesh and hang them.
Later, when they reached at Chaurasta intersection around 11:30am after submitting memorandum to deputy commissioner (DC), post-deprived BCL leaders and activists attacked them and locked into a clash.
Police fired rubber bullets to bring the situation under control leaving at least 20 people, including passers-by, injured.
Both the groups blamed each other for the situation.
Thakurgaon Thana Officer-in-charge (OC) AKM Mehdi Hasan told that they deployed additional police forces to thwart any untoward situation.
