Dhaka, Jan 18, 2015 Nirapad News : The 50th Biswa Ijtema concluded today with “Akheri Munajat” (concluding prayer) in the second phase on the banks of the river Turag in Tongi.

Lakhs of Muslims from home and abroad participated in the Akheri Munajat at 11 am in the second largest congregation of the Muslims after Hajj.

The second phase of the Ijtema began on January 16 where devotees gathered at Ijtema ground and adjoining areas defying nonstop blockade enforced by the BNP-led 20-party alliance.

The Ijtema formally began with “ambayan” (general sermon) after Fazr prayers at dawn on Friday.

Yesterday, the second day of the Ijtema, passed off through discussions on various issues, including teachings of Islam and supremacy of Allah.

The eminent alims, in their sermons, stressed on following the guidance of the holy Quran and Sunnah. The sermons were translated into different languages of the world.

About 10,700 devotees from some 93 foreign countries, including India, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Arab Emirates, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Algeria, Oman, Yemen, Sudan, Palestine, Tunisia, Bahrain, France, Kuwait, Somalia, Kenya, Germany, Switzerland, Canada, the United States, Iraq and Iran took part in the congregation, organizers said.
