There are no kings and queens in democracy: Hasanul Haq Inu
27 February 2015, Nirapad News: Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu said on Thursday that, there are no kings and queens in democracy. Nobody is above the law and that includes Khaleda and Tarique. Those who want to keep them above the law are trying to nurture the demons of fire-terrorism, the minister said.
The minister was speaking as chief guest at the Ram Krishna Mission on the 180th birth of Sree Ram Krishna Dev. He also unveiled the cover of “Uddipan”, a magazine commemorating the 150th birth of Swami Vivekananda.
The minister further said there is no place for criminals in a democracy. The place for criminals is prison. If criminals remain at large they pose a danger to democracy.
“Those who say that if Khaleda is arrested democracy will be undermined are basically considering her as royalty,” he said. “Rule of law is a precondition for peace,” he added.
