Three Malaysian on 3-day remand over 45kg gold seizure
11 October 2015, Nirapad News: A court here today put three Malaysian on a three-day remand in connection with a
case filed over seizure of 45 kilograms of gold from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Saturday.
Metropolitan Magistrate Asaduzzaman Noor passed the order as Sub Inspector (SI) Kabirul Islam of Bimanbandar
Police Station placed the Malaysians, Hi Wing Kong, Zuhari Bin Harun and Azwan Bin Salehin, before the court with
a 10-day remand prayer.
Defense counsel opposed the remand prayer and sough bail for their clients. After hearing both prosecution and
defense, the court granted three days remand for each of them.
Three Malaysian nationals were arrested along with 45 gold bars weighing 45 kilograms worth about Taka 22 crore
from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital city on Saturday.
A case was lodged against the trio to this end.
