Three-member Japan team likely in the city Monday
5 October 2015, Nirapad News: A three-member team from Tokyo is likely to be in the city on Monday but the purpose of the visit is yet to be known.
It is anticipated that the team is coming here to look into the murder of Japanese national in Bangladesh, according to a diplomatic source.
Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Foreign Ministry and the Home Ministry are jointly planning to arrange a briefing for diplomats over the security issues following the killing of two foreign nationals.
The briefing may take place either on Monday or Tuesday, the source said.
On the other hand, Japanese Ambassador in Dhaka Masato Watanabe on Sunday met Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan and sought security for their nationals in Bangladesh.
A good number of Japanese nationals, volunteers and experts are living in Bangladesh.
The Home Minister assured the Ambassador of providing security for them.
Japanese national Hoshi Kunio, 66, was shot to death by unidentified assailants in Rangpur on Saturday, just five days after an Italian aid worker was murdered in the capital’s Gulshan area.
Kunio was gunned down in the morning when he was going in a rickshaw to his grass farm at Alutari in Kaunia upazila, police said.
