Three officers of Sher-e-Bangla Medical College fired for irregularities
19 January 2016, Nirapad News: Three officers of Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College and Hospital have been terminated from their services for their alleged involvement in irregularities in the recruitment process of Class-III and Class-IV employees of the college.
The three officers were terminated temporarily at the instruction of Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim, according to a press release of the ministry concerned issued today.
The terminated officers are director-in-charge of the hospital Prof Dr Md Nizam Uddin Faruque, deputy director Dr Md Shahidul Islam Howladar and administrative officer Abdul Jalil. Dr Farque discharged his duties as the chairman, Dr Shahidul as member-secretary and Abdul Jalil as coordinator of the recruiting committee.
As allegation was brought-in about the recent process of recruitment of Class-III and Class-IV employees of Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College and Hospital, the minister constituted an inquiry committee of the ministry concerned to investigate into the allegation.
The minister instructed the Health Secretary to terminate the three officers of the college as the committee unearthed truth primarily on the allegation brought against them during investigation. Alongside, the joining of the employees newly recruited through irregularities has been suspended at the instruction of the minister.
