TIB finds nothing positive

19 May 2015, Nirapad News: Criticising the Transparency International, Bangladesh (TIB), commerce minister Tofail Ahmed on Monday said, “TIB cannot find anything good, rather it finds negatives only”.

The minister was talking to journalists after holding a meting with visiting Indian commerce secretary Rajeev Kher, at his secretariat office at noon.

Earlier in the morning, TIB claimed that the recently held election at Dhaka North, Dhaka South and Chittagong city corporations was not free and fair.

In response to a question of a journalist, Tofail came up with the comment on the findings of TIB.

He further said that TIB does not see the development in roads, water, electricity and trade sectors of the country. They failed to see the implementation of Land Boundary Agreement (LBA) that was pending for 21 years.

Terming TIB’s report as false, he said they even could not see there was not any violence in the elections.
