Tigers set 277-run target for Zimbabwe

11 November 2015, Nirapad News: Bangladesh have set a 277-run target for Zimbabwe in the third and last ODI in Mirpur on Wednesday.

Sikandar Raza sent Imrul Kayes back to the pavilion at 73, Cremer dismissed Tamim at 73 and Liton at 17 while Waller took Mushfiqur at 28. Jongwe dismissed Sabbir at 1 and Nasir for a duck.Panyangara sent Mashrafe back to the pavilion at 16 before Mahmudullah’s run out.

Earlier in the day, Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza has decided to bat first.This was his first time he had won the toss in this ODI series, which the home side had already clinched 2-0 after Monday’s 58-run win.

Bangladesh recovered from the loss of quick wickets in the death overs through Mahmudullah’s fifty to post 276 for nine in 50 overs.

Mahmudullah came back to form with the unbeaten knock of 52 from 40 balls. He hammered five fours and a huge six over wide long-on during his stay at the wicket.

He held the Bangladesh innings together in the latter part of the match, and enabled his team score at a descent rate in the death overs.

Bangladesh will be keen to end their emphatic year in international cricket with a “banglawash” in the last day of the three-day ODI against Zimbabwe.
