Tobacco free Bangladesh within 2040
02 February 2015, Nirapad News: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina hopes it will be possible to make Bangladesh a tobacco-free country within the next 25 years in order to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and build a healthy nation. The prime minister said that ‘all sorts of steps’ would be taken to implement the tobacco control laws. She said the laws would be amended to make them consistent with the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC).
The prime minister came up with the assertion while addressing a program in Dhaka.
