Two Bangladesh Chhatra League men injured in attacks in Rajshahi, Sylhet
28 March 2015, Nirapad News: A leader and an activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) were injured in separate incidents of attack in Rajshahi and Sylhet on Friday.
In Rajshahi, a leader of the Rajshahi University unit of BCL was stabbed and wounded by some rowdy youths over a trifling matter in Boalia area of the city on Friday. The victim was identified as Sabrul Jamil Sushmoy, secretary of Human Resources Affairs of the RU unit BCL.
Brajo Gopal, sub-inspector of Boalia Model Police Station, said Jamil had an altercation with some local young men over parking his motorcycle near Padma Garden in the city around 7 am.
At one stage of altercation, a young man from the group stabbed Jamil indiscriminately, leaving him critically injured. Later he was rushed to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. Police arrested one Dipto from the spot for interrogation.
In Sylhet, a BCL activist was stabbed and injured by some miscreants at Ambarkhana point in the city on Friday. The victim was identified as Arafat, 25, supporter of Abul Hasnat Bulbul, vice-president of the Sylhet city unit BCL.
Sources said a group of assailants stabbed Arafat when he went to a shop in the area for recharging mobile phone around 7:30 am. Later he was rushed to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital.
Mohammad Hasanuzzaman, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station, said miscreants might have attacked him over previous enmity.
