Two Bangladeshis killed in Saudi Arabia
12 May 2015, Nirapad News: Two Bangladesh nationals were killed when the Hauthi rebels of Yemen launched mortar shells in Najran area, south-eastern province of Saudi Arabia on Tuesday and Wednesday last.
The Najran area is 650 km away from Jeddah and 50 km from Yemen border, a foreign ministry press release said this afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Mizan, son of Mafiz of village-Bateshar, upazila – Barura, Comilla and Abdul Jalil, son of Abdul Aziz of Lemua village in Patharghata upazila of Barguna district. Mizan was killed when mortar shells hit him while he was working in a farm on May 5 (Tuesday).
Abdul Jalil was killed by mortar shells while he was at his work place at Nazran on May 6 (Wednesday).
Immediately after the incident, representatives of Bangladesh consulate general in Jeddah visited the area and contacted the employers of the victims as well as their family members in Bangladesh.
Mortal remains of the deceased are preserved in the mortuary of the King Khaled Hospital in Najran.
Bangladesh Consulate General, Jeddah, is coordinating with the employers regarding sending back the mortal remains and arrange burial in line with the desire of the family members of the victims, as well as for realization of due compensation, the release added.
