Two banks to sign deals with EC to get NID service
7 October 2015, Nirapad News: Dutch Bangla Bank and Trust Bank will sign agreements with the Election Commission (EC) on Thursday to get service from the national identity (NID) database.
“Two agreements will be signed at EC Secretariat at 11am on Thursday to get service from the commission’s NID database,” said SM Asaduzzaman, Director (PR) of the EC Secretariat told UNB.
The agreement will have specification over payment of NID service charges, he added.
Now the Bangladesh Bank, the National Board of Revenue (NBR) and the passport department under the Home Ministry use the EC’s data on voters.
The Election Commission has a database of some 96 million voters. Of them, 92 million people were provided the NID card across the country.
