Two bomb blast victims die at DMCH
22 January, Nirapad News: Two bomb blast victims died at DMCH who were in injured in separate bomb explosions on January 21.
The deceased are identified as Bappy, 28, and Sanjit Hossain Ovi, 19.
Inspector Mozammel Haque, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police camp, said Bappy got his right hand’s wrist blown off while two children–Bappy’s niece Happy, 13, daughter of Abdul Hakim, and his neighbour Ripon, 6, son of Bachchu Miah– suffered burn injuries in an explosion allegedly while making bombs at a house in the city’s Chawkbazar area on January 21 (Wednesday) afternoon. The incident took place in the second floor of the bulding in Dhakewshari road are around 3.pm. Bappy succumed to his injuries at about 4 pm in the hospital .
Relatives claimed, the incident took place when a bulb went off at the house. However, police dismissed the claim saying the explosion happened while the victims were making bombs.
In another incident, Ovi, a student of Kabi Nazrul College, along with his friend Jiban, 22, suffered injuries after several crude bombs were set off near Banglabazar in the city on January 14 evening.
Suddenly, several crude bombs were hurled in front of MSKO Tower when one of the bombs hit the cheek of Ovi. They were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
