Two dies as train rams into bus in Chittagong
12 February 2015, Nirapad News: At least two people have been killed as a train rammed into a bus at the Ispahani Rail gate of Akhbar Shah area of Pahartali in Chittagong. The Chittagong bound Meghna Express, which was coming from Chandpur rammed into the bus while it was on the level crossing.
The identity of the deceased could not be ascertained.
Pahartali police OC Azizur Rahman Miah said the incident took place at 11:10 am. He said, “Two people died on the spot and two more were injured. But we recovered one body from the spot.”
The injured were admitted in Chittagong Medical College & Hospital. They are Abul Hashem (60) and Mahbubul Alam (50).
Following information, Fire Service, Police, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) rushed to the spot.
The rail communication with the port city came to a halt following the crash. However, the situation turned normal after some time.
A five member probe committee has been formed to investigate the incident. The committee has been asked to submit its report within three days.
