Two Netrakona ‘razakars’ sent to jail
15 August 2015, Nirapad News: International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 sent two suspected razakars Abdur Rahman and Ahmad Ali of Netrakona to jail to try them in a case for alleged crimes against humanity during the country’s war of independence.
The three-member tribunal headed by chairman Justice M Enayetur Rahim passed the order as police produced them before the court on Thursday.
Prosecutors Mokhlesur Rahman Badal and Sabina Yasmin Munni were present at the tribunal.
Earlier on Wednesday, police arrested the two warranted-accused in crimes against humanity case from Sonaikanda village in Purbadhala upazila of Netrokona district.
The duo are among the seven accused in the crimes against humanity case in Purbadhala.
Earlier, the ICT-1 issued an arrest warrant against them on Wednesday.
Regarding the arrest tribunal prosecutor Sabina Yasmin Munni said that investigation officer Shahjahan Kabir conducted an inquiry against seven in accusation of their involvement in crimes against humanity during the war in 1971.
Primary investigation showed the duo’s involvement in crimes. So, their arrest is needed for more investigation, she added.
