Two of the four bodies of militants killed in Operation Twilight identified
A source at Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP), requesting anonymity, said two of the militants rented the house introducing themselves as Morjina and Kawser. Morjina also submitted a copy of his national ID card.
However, police are now verifying their identities.
The bodies of the four militants, including three of men and one of a woman, were found at the militant den on Monday evening.
Two of the bodies were handed over to police while two others lying on the ground floor of the building with suicidal vests.
The bodies have been kept at Osmani Medical College Hospital, said S M Rokon Uddin, additional Police Commissioner of SMP.
Brig Gen Fakhrul Ahsan, spokesperson of the operation, ‘Twilight,’ said at a press conference near Aita Mahal at 7:30pm on Monday that their operation is still on and it may take further time to conclude it.
Fakhrul said, “We aren’t concluding the operation right now as there’s a process to do that. The search is still on. CID’s Crime Scene unit will arrive at the spot after the search.”
The Army-led operation, ‘Operation Twilight’, began on Saturday morning although police launched the raid on the militant den early Friday.
