Two policemen injured in clash with blockaders
Mymensingh, 11 February 2015, Nirapad News: Officer-in-charge of Gauripur Police Station Mohammed Ali Shiekh said that a team of police rushed to Mamun Nagar when secret information was received that some blockaders took position there in order to attack vehicles with petrol bombs and crude bombs.
At that time, the miscreants, sensing the presence of police, hurled crude bombs toward the law enforcers. Two policemen were injured and a picketer sustained bullet wounds in a clash between the law enforcers and blockaders in Gauripur upazila early on Wednesday. The injured policemen were Sub-inspector Masud Jamali and constable Bachchu Miah while the picketer was identified as Sohag. In retaliation, police also opened fire leaving Sohag injured.
Earlier on Tuesday night miscreants torched the land office adjacent to Bashabari Market in the town.
