Vehicular movement in Dhaka-Chittagong highway normal
16 May 2015, Nirapad News: After 15 hours of gridlock, the vehicular movement in Dhaka-Chittagong highway came to normalcy Friday evening.
Highway Police of Eliotganj outpost Highway Police in-Charge (Sergeant) Asaduzzaman said the highway became traffic jam free by the frantic effort of the police members around 6:30 pm.
Earlier, a 15-kilometre gridlock was created on the highway, following a goods-laden truck tumbled upside down on the highway in Nimsar area of Burichong upazila at 3:30 am.
The tailback was stretched from Kutumbapur gridlock in Chandina upazila to Nimsar in Burichong upazila till filing of the report.
A good number of vehicles got stranded on the both sides of the accident spot, causing immense sufferings to thousands of passengers amid hot weather.
