Verdict on Bagerhat ‘war criminals’ August 11

05 August 2015, Nirapad News: 1 set August 11 to delivered its verdict in the case of crimes against humanity allegedly committed by two men of Bagerhat.

The accused war criminals are Sheikh Sirajul Islam, and Khan Akram Hossain.

Another accused of the case, will be acquitted as he died recently.

Abdul Latif Talukder,75,  died at the city’s Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on July 28.

On June 23, the ICT-1 concluded the hearing of arguments from both sides on the trial and kept its verdict pending.

The suspected Razakars are facing seven charges, including killing, mass killing, torture and arson attack, during the Liberation War.

The tribunal on November 5, 2014 framed charges against the three accused for their involvement in crimes against humanity during the Liberation War.
