Quader welcomes BNP’s decision on observing historic March 7

Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader has welcomed BNP’s decision to arrange programme on the occasion of historic March 7.

“Those who had banned observing the historic March 7 now they will observe it, Awami League welcomes the decision of BNP to observe the day,” he said this while addressing the founding anniversary of Sheikh Russel Jatiya Shishu Kishore Parishad at Krishibid Institution Bangladesh auditorium through videoconferencing from his official residence in Dhaka.

Quader said while joining at programme on Thursday through video conferencing from his official residence in Dhaka.

The programme was arranged at Krishibid Institute Bangladesh auditorium to mark the founding anniversary progaramme of Sheikh Russel Jatiyo Shishu Kishore Parishad.

Quader, also the Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said this effort of BNP will create a positive atmosphere in the political environment of the country.

Urging the young people to know the exact history of the country and its Liberation war, he said, “For long the shackles were put on the feet of our history. It was distorted. That’s why the youth generation should know the real history of the country and the Liberation War.”

Referring to the Bangabandhu’s family as a symbol of honesty, talent and courage in the politics of Bangladesh, the Awami League general secretary said the members of Sheikh Russel Jatiya Shishu Kishore Parishad will create golden people in the future to build a Sonar Bangla (golden Bengal) as dreamt by Bangabandhu.

“Bangabandhu is for all and upholding his ideals means showing respect to the values of the country and its independence, he added.

Quader said Bangabandhu, the independence and Bangladesh are undividable and tied in one thread.

“Bangabandhu has given us an independent state and geographical freedom while his worthy daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given us economic emancipation and turned the country as a role model of hunger and poverty alleviation,” the AL general secretary said.

Bangabandhu and Sheikh Hasina are the role models of the new generation, he said, adding “We all have to go ahead by following their paths.”

Chaired by Sheikh Russel Jatiya Shishu Kishore Parishad president Rakibur Rahman, the meeting was addressed, among others, by AL office secretary Barrister Biplab Barua, lawmakers Nazrul Islam Babu, Sirajul Islam Mollah and Anwarul Abedin Tuhin, Shishu Kishore Parishad secretary general Mahmud Us Samad Chowdhury and its organising secretary KM Shahidullah.
