Govt imposes ban on public movement for one week

The government has imposed a restriction on people’s movement from April 5 due to surge of coronavirus cases and deaths in the country.

No one will be allowed to stay out of their respective homes from 6pm-6am without specific reasons.

The Cabinet Division issued the gazette on Sunday in this regard.

The order will be effective from April 5-April 11.

All modes of public transports, except emergency services, and internal flights will be suspended. But truck, covered van and vehicles carrying fuel, emergency services, medicine, newspapers and garments materials are out of this preview.

Shopping malls and other shops will be kept close. Shops can sell their products through online services.

Raw materials and daily essentials will be sold from an open place from 8am-4pm maintaining health guidelines properly.

Hotels and restaurants are permitted to sell and parcel foods but no persons will be allowed to eat foods sitting inside.

Law enforcement agencies will patrol strictly to implement the coronavirus directives.

Banking activities will be operated on limited scale according to Bangladesh Bank’s order.

Private offices can carry employees with their own vehicle services.
