Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has urged all irrespective of party affiliations to stand beside the hapless and jobless people along with the government.
“Coronavirus does not recognise with political party. We’re losing valuable lives everyday. Don’t blame or criticise in this situation. All need to remain cautious and maintain health guidelines,” he said.
Obaidul Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, was speaking at a regular press briefing at his official residence on Sunday.
He informed that the government has already undertaken different initiatives for the financially assisting the jobless people during the lockdown.
Under the initiatives, some 1.25 lakh affected families will be provided with food assistance, the minister said adding that on behalf of the Prime Minister, a total of 36.25 lakh poor families will be given financial assistance as the Eid gift.
He claimed that it is Awami League’s culture to stand beside the helpless and affected people before others.
