The government has extended the timeframe of the ongoing restrictions till May 5 considering current surge of coronavirus throughout the country.
“Considering the present situation of Covid-19 infections, the ongoing countrywide restrictions have been extended till midnight of May 5,” said a gazette notification issued by the cabinet division here today.
In the latest official circular, the government has enforced strict embargo on access of any person except commodity transportation from India to Bangladesh by using land, water or air ports.
But only those Bangladeshis whose visas’ tenure has already expired can enter Bangladesh in special consideration by the Bangladesh High Commission in India.
The Bangladeshis who will enter Bangladesh must have to stay in fourteen days quarantine as per the rules of the health directorate and concerned health service division, public security division, shipping ministry and deputy commissioners will take necessary actions in this regard.
The shops and shopping malls are allowed to open from 10am to 8pm daily by maintaining all the necessary health guidelines, said the official release.
Commerce Ministry, Labour Ministry, concerned trade bodies and market management committees will take necessary steps to enforce the health guidelines.
Legal actions will be taken against those who will ignore the restrictions.
For the Eid-ul-Fitr prayer, programme schedule will be set as per the instruction of the religious affairs ministry, said the gazette notification.
The passengers who will carry non-covid-19 certificate along with certificate of covid-19 vaccination coming from Middle East, Singapore and China must have to stay in fourteen days quarantine in their respective houses.
They must have to inform about their arrival and quarantine to their concerned police station.
The travellers who have only non-covid-19 certificate coming from those countries will have to stay in quarantine for 14 days at their respective houses after receiving permission from the local physicians.
But the travellers who will come to Bangladesh from other countries must have to stay in quarantine in hotels at their own cost, the circular added.
