The national technical advisory committee of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has recommended to bring seven bordering districts under lockdown amid the fresh surge in Covid-19 infections.
The districts are – Naogaon, Natore, Satkhira, Jashore, Rajshahi, Kushtia and Khulna.
A decision in this regard is likely to come today (Sunday).
A member of the committee told media that recommendation has been given at a meeting on Saturday.
He said infection rate is higher in that districts. Besides, the committee has expressed concern over the situation in Noakhali and Cox’s Bazar.
