The second consignment of six lakh COVID-19 vaccine doses gifted by China’s Sinopharm arrives on Sunday afternoon.
Two transport planes of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) left Beixing airport for Dhaka at 10:30am which is expected to reach at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital this afternoon.
Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Li Jiming confirmed the news this morning.
The two C-130J aircraft departed for China on Saturday night.
The first consignment of 5,00,000 doses reached Bangladesh on May 12. Of those, 30,000 vaccines are allocated for Chinese nationals in Bangladesh.
Later on May 21, Chinese Foreign Minister confirmed Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen about the 6 lakh more doses as gift.
