3 killed in Mymensingh road crash

Three people, including a truck driver and his assistant, were killed as a covered van hit the vehicle from behind in Bhaluka upazila of Mymensingh early hours of Monday.

The deceased were identified as truck driver Shah Alam Gazi, 57, his assistant Rabiul Majhi, 25, son of Abdul Malek of Jhalokati , and Rabbi Miah, 24, of Dhaka.

Bhoradoba Highway Police Station SI Ziaul Haque said the truck driver and the assistant were repairing the vehicle which was out of service on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway at 3am. At that time, a Mymensigh-bound covered van hit it from behind after its driver lost control over the steering, leaving Shah Alam and Rabiul Majhi dead on the scene.

Critically injured Rabbi was rushed to a local hospital where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
