COVID antibody found in 71% of Dhaka, 55% residents of Ctg

Coronavirus antibody was found in 71 per cent residents of Dhaka and 55 per cent of Chattogram.

A recent study by International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh (icddr,b), disclosed the matter.

Dr Tahmid, executive director of The icddr,b, said, “After analysing the samples of 3,220 people in last five months, we found that 71 per cent residents in Dhaka and 55 per cent of Chattogram carrying the COVID-19 antibody.”

The rate of antibody or seroprevalence in female is 70.6 per cent, higher than that of male.

According to the study, the infection rate in non-slum areas is lower than that of slum areas which is 62%.
