A five-member probe body has been formed to investigate the Moghbazar Sharma House blast in Dhaka that killed eight people and injured about 50 others on Sunday evening.
Fire Service and Civil Defense headquarters formed the committee, its director general Brig Gen Md Sazzad Hussain disclosed the information to the media after visiting the site late Sunday night.
He said the committee has been asked to submit a report within seven working days.
The fire service chief also suspected gas leakage as the most possible cause of the blast.
Meanwhile, police disregarded the possibility of militant involvement behind the blast.
Eight people were killed and 66 others injured following the explosion in a building near Moghbazar Wireless Gate on Sunday evening.
