Public transport services resumed from Thursday following the government order of relaxation the strict restriction ahead of Eid till July 23.

Water transports also started moving from this morning with limited number of passengers. For this, no gathering is seen on the ferries.

There was traffic congestion on many streets in Dhaka as some people are rushing to shopping malls and shops.

Long distance buses started leaving the capital.

BIWTC’s Shimulia ghat assistant general manager Shafiqul Islam said they are operating 10 ferries. Around 300 vehicles are waiting to cross the River Padma but there is no passengers’ gathering on the ghat.

Though the restrictions for coronavirus transmission control have been relaxed for eight days–from July 14 midnight to July 23 morning–for celebration of Eid-ul-Azha, the government has requested people to wear masks and avoid crowded places.
