Bangladesh enters into 19-day long Eid and Covid restrictions

Country has entered into a 19-day long holidays with Eid-ul-Azha holidays, weekly holidays, and coronavirus restrictions.

However, commercial banks will remain open in limited form within the Covid-19 restrictions announced by the government.

The Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated on Wednesday (July 21). It means Eid holidays fall on July 20, 21 and 22. A two-day weekly holidays will fall on July 23 and 24 (Friday and Saturday) amid the 14-day strict lockdown that begins on July 23. Weekly holidays will again fall on August 6 and 7 (Friday and Saturday). With these, the country has entered into a total of 19-day holidays.

After the end of the lockdown on August 5 as announced by the government, August 6 and 7 (Friday and Saturday) will be the weekly holidays. Though the government offices remain close on weekly holidays, most of the private offices remain open. But, work at private offices will resume on August 8 so that the people who left Dhaka for Eid holidays and coronavirus restrictions will return to the capital by that time.
