11 Covid deaths, 599 fresh cases

Bangladesh has registered 11 more deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours till 8:00am on Monday.

Among the dead, two were male and nine female patients. All of them died at hospitals.

According to the division-wise statistics, highest 7 died in Dhaka division, followed by one in Khulna division, two in Barishal division and one in Mymensingh division.

It was stated in a regular bulletin signed by Professor Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general (Admn) of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), on latest Covid-19 situation in Bangladesh.

The bulletin said the positivity rate was found 2.58 per cent after testing the samples of 23,193 persons across the country during the last 24 hours.

During the same period of time, 599 more persons were tested positive for the virus.

A total of 15,62,958 persons have been tested with Covid-19 positive in the country so far.

Besides, 634 persons were recovered from Covid-19 during the last 24 hours.

The country has been reporting a positivity rate below 5% since September 21.

The death rate remained unchanged at 1.77% for the last 19 days.

Bangladesh reported 14 deaths and 481 infections a day ago.
