Two truck drivers were killed when their vehicles collided head-on in Shahjibazar area on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway under Madhabpur upazila of the district this morning.
The deceased were identified as Awal Miah, 30, son of Haider Ali, a resident of Sandha village in Jibannagar upazila of Chuadanga district and Rafiqul Islam, 26.
The accident occurred in the area when a Dhaka-bound truck from Sylhet collided head-on with another one, leaving two drivers of the vehicles dead on the spot, said Mainul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Shaistaganj highway Police Station.
The bodies were sent to Habiganj Sadar Hospital morgue, he said.
The accident occurred due to dense fog, the OC added.
