Three youths were killed in a head-on collision between a speedy bus and a motorcycle on Chandpur-Cumilla highway in Balakhal area under Hajiganj upazila of the district today.
The deceased were identified as Md Sujan Hossain, 26, Md Monri Hossain, 30, and Md Sohag Hossain, 30, residents of Belashwar area of Mirdha Bari under Chandina upazila of the district.
Eyewitness Robiul Islam and police sources said six young men were going to Chandpur Molhead tourist spot from Chandina upazila in Cumilla on two motorcycles.
At Dherra of Hajiganj, one of the motorcycles collided head-on with a Cumilla bound passenger bus coming from the opposite leaving three riders of a bike dead on the spot around 1.15 pm , said Hajiganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Harunur Rushid.
Police recovered the bodies from the spot.
Legal action will be taken after the autopsy, the OC added.
