As per the directive of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Murad Hassan submitted his resignation letter to his ministry on Tuesday.
He submitted the letter through e-mail around 12:30pm citing ‘personal reasons’.
It’ll be forwarded to the Cabinet Division for taking necessary steps. The Cabinet will send the resignation letter to the President after the PM’s approval, said an official of the Information Ministry.
Murad went to Chattogram on Monday, the official added.
Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said on Monday that the Prime Minister ordered Murad to resign from the cabinet by Tuesday for his derogatory remarks about women.
