A motorcyclist was killed as a concrete mixer truck smashed him in the capital’s Shahbagh area on Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Khademul Islam Sabuj, 30, hailed from Tongibari upazila of Munshiganj district. He lived in a rented house in Mirpur of Dhaka city.
The deceased’s cousin Jashim said a truck rammed into him while he was returning home by a motorcycle on Abdul Gani Road in front of Shikkha Bhaban, leaving him severely injured.
Later, he was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where the on-duty doctor declared him dead, Shahbagh Police Station sub-inspector Kamal Uddin Munshi said.
