Two motorcyclists killed in Sherpur road crash

Two motorcyclists were killed in a road accident in Kaida Pagli Market area on Nakla-Chandrakona road under Nakla upazila of the district in the early hours of today.

The deceased were identified as Md. Rabbi, 20, son of Abdur Razzak, and Md. Wasim, 18, son of Faruk Hossain, residents of Mocharchar area of the upazila.

The accident occurred when Rabbi’s motorcycle hit with a loaded truck, parking on the road, as he lost control over the vehicle around 1am in the area, leaving Rabbi dead on the spot and injuring his co rider Wasim.

The wounded was rescued in critical condition and taken to Upazila Health Complex. But, the on-duty doctor referred him to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) as his condition deteriorated.

Wasim died around 7:30 am this morning while undergoing treatment at MMCH, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nakla Police Station Md. Mushfiqur Rahman told BSS.

A case was filed in this connection, the OC added.
