Sirajganj road crash kills 4

Four persons were killed and two others injured in separate road accidents at Salanga and Tarash upazilas of the district today.

A north-bengal bound cavard van from Dhaka ran over a indigenous vehicle locally called van while crossing the highway at Pachlia bazaar in Salanga thana around 6:30 am today, said Shahjahan Ali, officer-in-charge (OC) Hatikumrul Highway police station.

The collision left three persons – van puller and its two passengers — dead on the spot, he said.

The deceased were identified as van puller Khodabox Sheikh, 24, son of Mothahar Ali and Haider Ali, 26, son of late Phulchan, of Pachlia village under Salanga upazila and Shahadat Hossen, 20, son of Afjal Hossen (whose village name is yet to be ascertained).

In another accident, one unidentified man was killed and two others were injured in a head-on collision between two trucks in Khalkua Bazar area on Hatikumrul-Banpara highway.of Tarash upazila today.
