Two people were killed as a pick-up van hit a truck on a road in Sadar upazila of Meherpur district Thursday.
The deceased were identified as the pick-up van driver Shahadat Hossain, 45, son of Hashem Bapari, a resident of Shaldanachar village, and his assistant Faruk Hossain, 42, son of Mojhar Mollah, of village Nagdemra, of Pabna.
Locals said a pick-up van driver rammed into a parked truck on the Meherpur-Chuadanga road at about 9:00 am, leaving the duo dead on the spot.
Meherpur Sadar Police Station officer in-charge Shah Dara Khan confirmed the matter.
