Six members of Chattogram Metropolitan Police have been placed on a two-day remand each in an extortion case.
Chattogram Senior Judicial Magistrate Shahidullah Kaiser passed the remand order on Tuesday after hearing.
Those remanded are constables Abdul Nabi, Eskandar Hossain, Monirul Islam, Shakil Khan, Md Masud and Morshed Billah. They all have been posted in the SSF branch of CMP.
Of them, constable Morshed Billah was the body guard of CMP Commissioner Saleh Md Tanvir and constable Masud was the bodyguard of deputy commissioner (West) Monjur Morshed.
Police said one Abdul Mannan of Boirag village in Anwara upazila filed a case accusing six cops of abducting, threatening and extorting money.
Later, they were arrested on February 7.
