A total of 429 persons were arrested in the capital till 12 noon on Sunday, the fourth day of nationwide strict lockdown to halt the spread of coronavirus transmission.
They were arrested from different parts of the capital. During the period, more than 300 vehicles were sued and over Tk 8 lakh fined.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s ADC Iftekharul Islam confirmed the Daily Observer Online about it.
He said different law enforcing agencies have been working to enforce restrictions of lockdown. Apart from checking at checkposts, police mobile courts have been conducting their activities.
