Three workers were killed and four others injured in a road accident on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Muhuriganj industrial area of the district last night.
The deceased were identified as Mosharraf Hassan, 22, Zahirul, 45, and Saju, 18. All are the residents of Jamalpur district and they are factory workers of Kangaroo Group in BSCIC area of the district.
Police said the accident took place in the area at about 9 pm last night when a goods-laden lorry crushed them as its driver lost control over the steering, leaving one worker dead on the spot and six others injured.
They were returning home after completing their work from the factory.
Others two died on the way to a local hospital.
The injured were admitted to a private hospital, said Monirul Islam, in-charge of Mahuriganj Highway Police Outpost.
