A man and his wife were killed in a road accident on Nilphamari-Saidpur road at Sadar upazila in Nilphamari district on Sunday morning.
Deceased Swapon Kumar, 30, and his wife Sumi Rani, 25, worked at Sonic Company in Uttara EPZ. They hailed from Saidpur upazila in the district.
According to locals, Swapon, Sumi and another worker Satish were going to their workplace this morning riding on a motorcycle.
A truck suddenly hit the motorcycle from the opposite direction in Kazirhat Bazar area around 7.00 am, leaving the couple dead on the spot and Satish seriously injured.
Later, locals rescued the injured and took him to a nearby hospital.
On information, a team from Uttara EPZ Fire Service recovered the bodies, said its official Shariful Islam.
Nilphamari Sadar Police Station inspector (Investigation) confirmed the matter.
