5 dead in Chattogram road crash

Five persons were killed when a private car collided with a truck at Lohagara upazila in Chattogram district early Monday.

The accident occurred at around 5:30am on the Chattogram-Cox’s Bazar highway.

The deceased were Muhammad Harunur Rashid, 28, son of late Nasir Uddin from Amirabad area under Lohagarh upazila, Rizvi Shakil, son of Faruque Jahan, Saiful Islam, Khorshed Ali and Mansur Ali.

All the five dead were the passengers of the ill-fated private car.

Alauddin Talukder, assistant sub-inspector of Chattogram district police, said four died on the spot and injured one succumbed to his injuries at about 8:45am at Chattogram Medical College Hospital.

The five met the tragic end of their lives while going to visit Cox’s Bazar sea beach by a private car, said Dohajari Highway Police Station OC Sirajul Islam.
